Dietlinde Ambos is a local hat designer here in Karlsruhe and she has some fantastic work. Originally I had several models organises for this shoot but that kind of fell through but “Bella Chuppa” saved the day.
This week I was in the studio with Elena Sophie and Thorsten as I wanted to have some new material to blog. Most the stuff I have been shooting over the last 6 months has either been private shoots or product shoots, so my own personal ranting and raving (aka blog) was neglected over this period. My concept for the shoot was a minimalist lighting look with one 60x80cm soft-box in close and if needed 1 other light source.
A while back I saw some cool photos using colour gels as a foreground, I wanted to use this idea and push it a bit further. But first I had to work out how exactly to light it for the affect I was looking for.

I have had several shoots this year but nothing to really blog about. Just a few paid jobs small product shoots or business portraits etc. Although I have several ideas I’m working on in the next few weeks that should be something different, but last week Gloria was in the studio for a shoot.
Bjorn was back in the studio for the 3rd time this year, this time the concept was simply to portray a series of fun facial expressions but using a standard business portrait set up.
Björn doing a light-test
Last time Björn S was in the studio I had to rush of due to a minor emergence so it was time to apologise and finish off our shoot. Like the last few shoot we started off out doors to catch the last rays of sunlight then moved into the studio.
My fellow photographer this week was Stefanie K who I have wanted to shoot with for a while so I was very happy that it worked out and we got to finally shoot together.
I have been trying to get this post finished since Wednesday but so many things keep coming up that had to be done. This week I was out and about with Linda and Matthias joined me as co-Photographer.
The week I wanted to shoot outside with the Roundflash again. But due a few different events we shot 1/2 the shoot out neat the Rhine river and 1/2 in the studio. This week Carola joined me again as second photographer, originally we had a shoot based around the designer John Galliano but that fell through and Björns S jumped in at the last minute to model and save the day…..
