Shot by Scott

The week I wanted to shoot outside with the Roundflash again. But due a few different events we shot 1/2 the shoot out neat the Rhine river and 1/2 in the studio. This week Carola joined me again as second photographer, originally we had a shoot based around the designer John Galliano but that fell through and Björns S jumped in at the last minute to model and save the day…..  

    I pushed the roundflash to its limits when shooting against the sun, both on camera and off camera as an external softbox. Using the pixel Kings I could easily control the flash EV to get the exposure I wanted.

After several plagues of slugs, mosquitoes, ants and other insects we left left the swampland for the studio.  Once we were in the studio the style changed drastically. Although the lighting Techniques used weren’t greatly different for out side. I stuck to using ring light and the round flash in the studio. But we shot open wide (f1.4) so there were a lot of photos where the focus was not 100% on the spot that I wanted.  

  Finally I built a massive ring flash out of strip lights and shot through the middle at around f8.

  I didn’t add any lighting diagrams last week but although this week was mostly ring lights in action i would still add the diagrams.
