I needed a better name that just “Steampunk shoot” so the “The Extraordinary Karlsruhe Ladies League of Temporal Adventurers and Society for a Better Cup of Tea” aka TEKLLTASBCT was born. I love photographing people that have an obsession maybe because I can relate to them. The chance to do a steampunk shoot with 2 “ladies” that make fantastic Victorian/Gothic style clothing.
Although originally planed as a steampunk photo shoot I personally think it turned out a bit more Lovecraftian. Nina and Caroline both had fantastic outfits, and Sabrina from studio f32 joined me as co-photographer
I wanted to keep the lighting very simple, and placed a Bowens Gemini 400ws with a large softbox 45° camera left as key light, and a Bowens Gemini 200ws with a small softbox 90° camera right as fill light. During the shoot I last put my “ROUNDFLASH” to the test again, but more about that in a latter blog.
There is something a little bit too 2d about these photos. A corset should enhance curves, yet the effect is flattening
